In 1644 Rev. Samuel Rutherford published LEX, REX, The Law & the Prince to demonstrate that the natural law is above the King, Some 364 years later The Invisible Hand Blog is born after a historic election a Reagan Conservative born in the 60's molded in the Reagan years begins this blog to demonstrate the God given Unalienable rights given to every person by God. God bless the truth and let the truth be raised.
In 1926 General Motors introduced the United States to the Pontiac Brand of Motor Cars. The brand took its name from Chief Pontiac, an American Indian who led an uprising against the British after the French and Indian War. The Pontiac brand became synonymous with MUSCLE CAR. Smokey and the Bandit gave us the Pontiac Trans Am. Other Muscle Pontiac's included the GTO, Firebird, Fiero, and today the Solstice.
Personally I have owned two Pontiac's in my life, the first was a 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT, that I purchased off the showroom floor. The second is a car that previewed on Donald Trump's "The Apprentice, the 2006 Pontiac Solstice. In fact, after the Apprentice show aired, the next day, I went to Major Cadillac on Main Street in Kansas City, Missouri and ordered one of the Pontiac Solstice, hoping to receive one of the coveted First 1000 in the color sly. A few weeks later I received word that in fact, I would be getting one of the First 1000 Pontiac Solstice. I received the first Pontiac Solstice delivered in Kansas City and as I write this the car is sitting in my driveway looking as good as the day I took delivery.
As I awoke this morning and found the report that GM is pulling the plug on Pontiac, I felt a little sad, but then I realized this is just a continuation of the direction of our country.
The USA was the MUSCLE CAR BRAND of the World. The USA contained the biggest, brightest, and fastest of you name it: houses, cars, minds, people, etc., etc. But now with the CEO Obama the USA is starting to be known as weak, green, dimwitted, and slow to respond. The nationalization of GM and the termination of the Pontiac Brand is apropos for the direction CEO Obama wants to take this country. No more Muscle Cars, but cars that are slow and green, and the name Pontiac does not fit that category.
In the next three years there will be more and more stones and mortar that are peeled and pulled away from the once MUSCLE NATION of the USA, Pontiac is just one of those stones and for me it is sad to see the old Indian Chief die.
Let me be clear: The United States government has no interest in running GM. We have no intention of running GM. What we are interested in is giving GM an opportunity to finally make those much-needed changes that will let them emerge from this crisis a stronger and more competitive company.
Translation: I am taking the Wheel, I have fired GM's CEO, and I am taking the wheel, if I did not the nation that invented the automobile industry will die, so I am taking the wheel.
It is my hope that the steps I am announcing today will go a long way towards answering many of the questions people may have about the future of GM and Chrysler. But just in case there are still nagging doubts, let me say it as plainly as I can -- if you buy a car from Chrysler or General Motors, you will be able to get your car serviced and repaired, just like always. Your warranty will be safe.
In fact, it will be safer than it's ever been. Because starting today, the United States government will stand behind your warranty.
Translation: Buy a Jeep, Chrysler, or GM product and I will personally see to it that it will be serviced.
This is what happens when you sign your soul over to the Devil, GM and Chrysler are having second thoughts about going to bed with the U.S. Government, it looks like FORD is the smart American Auto Company.
The amazing gets more amazing, the weird gets weirder, and the remarkable . . . REVEALED. No, I am not talking about Ripley's Believe It or Not's Odditorium, No I am describing the Obama administration. A side note, I went to Branson, Missouri for the weekend and for the first time I visited the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum orOdditorium in Branson. Proof #1 that when the government is not involved in a private enterprise, the business or attraction can succeed, myself, my wife, and my eight year old daughter enjoyed the museum, if you have the chance go to a Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, it will blow you away. Just another example that it is people who create jobs not the government, and I continued to think this thought as I drove throughout Branson, Missouri, "What government program created this attraction and these jobs?'" NONE . . . it was formed by entrepreneurs, people, risk-takers, not the government.
I really digress, but Obama has become the next TRUMP, he has fired CEO of General Motors . . . READ FULL STORY
NATIONALIZATION, SOFT-TYRANNY, GOVERNMENT STIMULUS, and the idea Government is the solution to job creation and our problems has believe it or not, given us a President who will stop at nothing to achieve his agenda and control . . . the remarkable, REVEALED.
So you want to know what power the President of the United States has? Just read Article Two of the Constitution of the USA. Article Two states the power and authority of the Executive Branch and yes, it is limited, just as the Legislative Branch, and the Judicial Branch. During the 2008 campaign many candidates expressed their outrage of how the Bush administration expanded the power of the Executive Branch, now, President Obama seeks new powers to seize troubled companies like the insurer AIG and take control over the company and their assets. In reading the news about this "NEW POWER" Obama needs, takes me back to the Truman Administration, and the Steel Seizure Case, Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. v. Sawyer, 343 U.S. 579 (1952). That case limited the power of the President of the United States to seize private property in the absence of either specifically enumerated authority under Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution or statutory authority conferred on him by Congress.
President Truman seized the property of the certain steel companies and nationalized the companies to avert a Strike. The Steel Companies sued to regain their property and companies back. The President argued that He had inherent power from Article Two section 1,2, & 3. The Court's basis of their decision was that all the branches of the U.S. Government are limited and the U.S. Supreme Court held, the President did not have the inherent authority to seize private property in the absence of either specifically enumerated authority under Article Two of the Constitution or statutory authority conferred on him by Congress. Therefore, President Truman exceeded his power and the property and companies were returned to the owners. Now, the year is 2009, Obama WANTS MORE POWER, because with POWER you can control, and with the POWER TO SEIZE PROPERTY YOU CONTROL LIBERTY.
President Barack Obama expects to have "all the pillars in place" this year for a US economic recovery while avoiding the need for new bailout funds for struggling financial firms, he said in an interview published Saturday.
"Our belief and expectation is that we will get all the pillars in place for recovery this year.... We have confidence that working with Congress we can get the pillars of recovery in place," the president told The New York Times. READ FULL STORY

In anticipation of President Obama's visit to Canada, The Invisible Hand sent reporter Lex Rex to our neighbor to the North CANADA. Yes I am here in Quebec City, Canada, I have learned five things that the USA can learn from:
1. No Canada Banks have failed. Canada banks are very strong, in fact Canada requires only a 15-1 reserve ratio, while USA operates on 26-1, and Europe 66-1. Canada banks need no bailout and none have failed.
2. Home ownership is strong and equal to the percentage in USA. 68% own homes and prices have only dropped around half of the price drop if USA housing. Also, a note if interest, Mortgage interest is not deductible for Canadiens on their taxes.
3. Canada's Health Care System is broken. No suprise about socialized medicine.
4. Many USA highly educated foreign students (India, Asian etc.) are moving to Canada to live and work after graduate school. Why? The USA kicks them out because student Visa has expired.
5. When shopping in Quebec it is easy to find things made in Canada. Clothes, boots, furs, toys, and syrup. In fact I had no trouble buying Canada in Canada.
Canada is a great place to visit and to learn some ideas, but nothing beats the USA, unless the newly passed Succubus destroys the USA, then maybe our refuge maybe Canada.
President Obama is not a Wizard, he is more like the man behind the curtain, He is leading us not down the Yellow Brick Road but the ROAD TO DISASTER. Leading Republicans warned Sunday that the Obama administration's $800 billion-plus economic stimulus effort will lead to what one called a "financial disaster."
The country will "pay dearly" if it executes the president's stimulus plans, Sen. Richard Shelby says.
"Everybody on the street in America understands that," said Sen. Richard Shelby, the ranking Republican on the Senate Banking Committee. "This is not the right road to go. We'll pay dearly." In fact President OBAMA is OUR BIGGEST AMERICAN MISTAKE ALWAYS, and He is sending Us, our children, and our great-grand children down the road to disaster. The Financial Times reports that Obama is going on the campaign trail. It did not take long for Barack Obama to crave the wind in his hair again.
Several weeks of Sisyphean efforts at building a bipartisan consensus on his $800billion stimulus plan appear to have won the White House very little support from an increasingly hostile opposition. Of the 218 elected Republicans on Capitol Hill, just three have come out in support of the president’s plan – and even their support cannot be guaranteed. Let's pray it is not.
With an increasingly now or never urgency to his efforts, Mr Obama will on Monday take his case to the voters in Elkhart, Indiana, in the kind of “town hall” setting that was a daily event during his 21-month election campaign. In Tuesday he will repeat the performance in Florida. And tonight he holds his first prime-time presidential press conference. There is no guarantee that any of this will work. In spite of pushing his Democratic colleagues in the Senate to broker a compromise with the three Republicans on Friday night that cut more than $100billion in spending from the stimulus package and added in new tax cuts, most Republican opposition appears only to have hardened over the weekend.
More than 40 per cent of the $827bn Senate bill comes in the form of tax cuts, compared with 30 per cent in the $819bn bill that passed the House.
“We’re going down a road to disaster,” Richard Shelby, the senior Republican on the Senate banking committee, said on Sunday. “There’s got to be some other way better than what we’re doing. Not the socialist way but to try and get our free market working again.”
Nor do Mr Obama’s efforts appear to be winning applause from his own support base, which is increasingly agitated about the substance of the compromises that were agreed in the Senate.
Obama our biggest American mistake always is leading us to financial disaster and the Great Depression II, to be continued . . . . .
Say it ain't so George, "the fox will come in sheep's clothing. . .", George W. Bush is going out with a bang a big socialist bang. The President has shown his true colors, he is bypassing Congress to extend $14 Billion to US Auto Makers. Socialist Bush is not what I voted for as a conservative.
President Bush is the one who got this bailout mania rolling, and there is no end in sight. Last night the Republican SHUT IT DOWN for a moment, but now George W. Bush is flipping on previous statements where he stated he would not use TARP money for the Auto Bailout unless Congress approved the measure. In Justin Quinn's article:
The Auto Bailout: More Proof of Bush's Conservative Betrayal
By George, He's done it again:
This time, President George W. Bush has circumvented the will of Congress -- and the people -- by announcing today that if the lawmakers on Capitol Hill won't give money to the Big Three automakers, he will.
Last night, Senate negotiations broke down on whether to send GM, Chrysler and Ford about $14 billion worth of aid for to keep their ailing companies from folding. It seemed as though Congress finally decided to take a tough-love approach and stop the flow of money that seems to be seeping from the US Treasury like a gunshot wound. The bleeding began whenCongress foolishly handed out $700 billion to the banking industry with no strings attached by way of the newly formed Troubled Asset Relief Program.
Apparently, Bush had other plans for the troubled auto manufacturers. He is now saying that, unless Congress acts with an aid plan first, he will give the last of the TARP money ($15 billion earmarked for banks) to the ailing car companies -- even though he said he wouldn't. Money and promises are to the Bush family like lice; some you you keep, some you give away.
Whether his extortion of Congress is successful is beside the point. Bush's final ugly act as president (we hope) will also be his final act of conservative betrayal (we hope). Let's take a look at how his conservative credentials have been compromised between when he was elected in 2000 and today:
Bush campaigned as the Great Unifier. In 2000, he promised that, if elected, he would bring the country together, acting in a bipartisan manner by reaching across the aisle to get things done. In eight years, he has divided the country more than any other president in history and almost single-handedly lost the election for his would-be successor John McCain.
Bush was elected as a compassionate conservative. After 9/11, Bush declared war on Iraq, which the nation later learned had little or nothing to do with al Queda's terrorist attack on New York and Washington, DC. The war has now lasted more than five years and has cost thousands of lives. Meanwhile, the conservative ideal of "a strong national defense" has been compromised by the diminished international reputation of the US.
Bush campaigned on the promise that he would balance the national budget every year and ensure that the national debt remained at zero. After his first four years, the budget deficit was at an all-time high of $412 billion, and in eight years as president, Bush has never proposed a single balanced budget. Meanwhile on Sept. 22, 2008, the national debt under Bush reached its highest total in 50 years -- $10 trillion.
Bush promised to create a true free-market economy by reigning in spending and reducing the size and scope of government. Under Bush, government has swollen to such an extent that it will have trouble finding money to fund all of its new programs (which will mean higher taxes, not program cuts), and it was the first administration in dozens of years to create a new cabinet-level position, complete with a new office and trillions of dollars in discretionary spending (the Office of Homeland Security). This is the exchange were old King George states that God's Word is not literally true:
MCFADDEN: Is it literally true, the Bible?
BUSH: You know. Probably not ... No, I'm not a literalist, but I think you can learn a lot from it, but I do think that the New Testament, for example is ... has got ... You know, the important lesson is "God sent a son."
MCFADDEN: So, you can read the Bible...
BUSH: That God in the flesh, that mankind can understand there is a God who is full of grace and that nothing you can do to earn his love. His love is a gift and that in order to draw closer to God and in order to express your appreciation for that love is why you change your behavior.
MCFADDEN: So, you can read the Bible and not take it literally. I mean you can -- it's not inconsistent to love the Bible and believe in evolution, say.
BUSH: Yeah, I mean, I do. I mean, evolution is an interesting subject. I happen to believe that evolution doesn't fully explain the mystery of life and ...
MCFADDEN: But do you believe in it?
BUSH: That God created the world, I do, yeah.
MCFADDEN: But what about ...
BUSH: Well, I think you can have both. I think evolution can -- you're getting me way out of my lane here. I'm just a simple president. But it's, I think that God created the Earth, created the world; I think the creation of the world is so mysterious it requires something as large as an almighty, and I don't think it's incompatible with the scientific proof that there is evolution.
Old King George, the darling of the Christian right and fiscal conservatives, in the last few days of his presidency is letting bare the sheep's clothing, President George W. Bush is a godless socialist who believes the Bible not to be literal, has given President-elect Barack Obama the goose that has laid the golden egg. The next 3-4 years President-elect Obama will be blaming Bush. All Bush needs to do is just say No, you have already created a avalanche with the $700 billion TARP bailout, now, you are going once again against the will of the people. It is not Barack Obama who is the godless socialist it is George W. Bush.
By the way I am declaring that I am no longer responsible for the debts created by the US Government . . .
The Auto Bailout dies in the Senate, thanks to conservatives. The cloture motion which killed the UAW Auto Bailout in the Senate Failed with Final Vote 52-35: FAILURE, the Democrats could not muster the required 60.
Senate Democrats and the White House failed to find 60 votes to end debate on a $14 billion auto bailout bill and bring it to a vote Thursday night, killing the measure for the year.
Conservatives SHUT IT DOWN, Michelle Malkin gives an hour by hour synopsis. READ HERE
The SHUT IT DOWN came at 11:05 pm Eastern:
11:05pm Eastern. Bond switches to Aye?!!!!
Reid votes no for procedural reasons.
Final tally: 52-35.
Reid says the issue won’t be taken up again until next session.
Can we kill it? Yes, conservatives did.
Thank you, GOP mavericks, for leading the way. I was disappointed to learn that Senator Brownback of Kansas and Senator Bond of Missouri voted pro-bailout. Here are the 10 pro bailout Republicans:
Bond (R-MO) Brownback (R-KS) Collins (R-ME) Dole (R-NC) Domenici (R-NM) Lugar (R-IN) Snowe (R-ME) Specter (R-PA) Voinovich (R-OH) Warner (R-VA)
Here is the link to the Senate roll call on the vote, click here, No Auto Bailout for Christmas 2008, and it has been reported by WSJ that GM has retained a Bankruptcy firm. Thank you Senate Republicans on holding fast, standing strong and SHUTTING IT DOWN.
