On January 3, 2009, two days after I climbed Mount Sinai, I sat by a campfire with Bedouins discussing the future of the U.S. Auto Industry especially JEEP. In the article Bedouin Discuss USA Economy Fear No More Jeep I explained to the Bedouins that there will always be JEEPS. However, I am not sure of that fact anymore, I am afraid Fiat SpA, the 110 old Italian automaker and the CEO "Green" Obama intend to destroy what we love about Chrysler & Jeep. Hemi V8 engines and All-Terrain Vehicles that get 11-13 mpg in the City.
In 1984 Fiat left the United States market because its vehicles did not sale. Americans wanted muscle-cars and truck-based vehicles, so Fiat left the North American Market. Now, Fiat has an in, with the help of CEO Obama into the United States Auto-Market, but will it be viable or destroy the Chrysler and Jeep brand? Industry analysts are suggesting many Chrysler's and Jeeps will be discontinued, probably my car the Jeep Commander (This is one of the vehicles that destroyed Chrysler/Jeep) according to CNN-Money. A side-note, the Commander is a great vehicle and it was not the cars that destroyed Chrysler, but management and the UAW. Onto Fiat, here is your new Chrysler:
The Fiat 500 won, "World Car Design of the Year" this year at the New York Auto Show, but none are sold in the United States. In the meantime, Fiat's mainstays abroad include the aforementioned 500 ($12,000), the utilitarian four-door Panda ($11,000) and the ($20,000) Bravo hatchback. Horsepower for the three hovers from 54-hp on the smallest Panda to 90-hp on the entry-level Bravo (many upgraded trim levels break the 100-hp barrier). A Jeep with 100-hp, wow, it gives you a tingle up your leg, right? If you want more just go to Fiat SpA's website www.fiat.com economical, practical, and the lowest CO2 admissions in the industry, CEO Obama is standing proud. The only problem, I am doing what Cuba did after the Revolution in the 50's (It is like an Auto Museum from the 1950's), I am keeping my old Jeeps. This is the advice for any true red-blooded American who loves big cars or trucks with big engines especially HEMIS, KEEP YOUR OLD JEEPS.
